Endless Rope

Depending on strength-to-body weight ratios, rope climbing can be one of the best upper-body strength development exercises or an incredibly frustrating experience.
With variable resistance, the Endless Rope allows strength development without frustration. The user can sit on the machine and pull hundreds, even thousands of feet of rope under light resistance to challenge the cardiovascular system.
Muscular stamina and endurance results from lighter resistance workouts. Muscular strength and power can be developed when heavier resistance is applied and exhaustion is achieved in short distances and/or times.
The single most defining characteristic of the Endless Rope is the development of the grip strength. Most arm and torso strength exercises require a static grip (the hand doesn't release until the end of the set). With the extension and flexion of the hand on every repetition, the Endless Rope delivers phenomenal hand and forearm strength training.

Advantages
The Endless Rope is a free-standing unit that has been designed for use in rooms with average (8ft.) ceilings. The double-caster front cross brace allows for easy maneuverability for routine cleaning. The unit's small workout-area footprint of 4 x 6 feet makes it ideal for training in confined-space facilities or for residential use. The unique design characteristics of the Endless Rope allow for a near silent training regimen that provides incredible upper-body training coupled with significant aerobic exercise.
Construction
The Endless Rope requires only periodic surface cleaning to maintain its appearance. All hydraulic components are maintenance free. Although the rope has been carefully tested for years of maintenance-free service, replacement or cleaning is a fairly easy procedure. In the event of any unit failure, replacement parts are also available.

About Aerobic/Anaerobic Training
Weight training is the quintessential anaerobic exercise. Traditional rope climbing works against resistance provided by body weight. For most climbers, because of strength-to-body-weight ratios, this equates to heavy weight training which results in high anaerobic states.
Aerobic means in the presence of oxygen. In the presence of oxygen both fat and glycogen can be metabolized for energy. Aerobic activities cause an increase in energy demands for the duration of the activities and for a time after.
Once metabolic demand exceeds oxygen supply, the body shifts exclusively to glycogen and lactic acid builds quickly in working muscles. The human body abhors oxygen debt and upon experiencing an anaerobic state the body immediately begins enlarging and strengthening the tissues upon which the demand was placed. Anaerobic activities are responsible for the development of lean mass which translates into increased energy demands 24/7.
You may well ask, "What does this have to do with the Endless Rope machine?" By design the Endless Rope allows an individual to train aerobically or an-aerobically and is so versatile that both modes can be achieved in the same set without making any adjustments to the machine.
Exercise Routines
Fundamental Machine Use
Most exercises presented here may be accomplished with feet-on-floor or feet-on-footrest. With feet-on-footrest, pelvis is turned under and a greater emphasis is placed on abdominal and oblique muscles. With feet-on-floor, the pelvis is released and greater emphasis is placed on back muscles

With variable resistance, the Endless Rope allows strength and endurance development through progressively challenging programs.
For an aerobic effect, sit on the machine and pull hundreds, even thousands of feet of rope at a light setting. During long sets try varying the exercise in order to shift the load from one muscle group to another.
Try pre-setting your distance or time and pull the rope as fast as you can.Try each exercise in a sprint fashion.Try varying the resistance from interval to interval.
Muscular strength and power can be developed when heavier resistance is applied and exhaustion is achieved in short distances and/or times. Since this machine employs a hydraulic fluid system, resistance increases proportionally to the speed at which the rope is pulled. Even at a light setting greater resistance can be achieved when the rope is pulled at high speed. Lighter settings allow greater hand speed which increases coordination and muscular recruitment. We have found that the greatest muscular recruitment and physical conditioning challenge is achieved at a light setting when the user pulls the rope as fast as possible to exhaustion. Improvements in power will result by increasing the frequency of muscular contractions (working fast) under lighter loads, instead of focusing on strength alone. Power is not just a result of strength, but strength multiplied by speed. Be fast and strong!
